Massive, Decentralized Connectivity

Scalable & Affordable

What is The Helium Network?

The Helium Network , also known as "The People's Network", is a shift in typical wireless infrastructure. The Helium Network is an Internet of Things (IoT) network that uses LongFi technology to combine the LoRaWAN wireless protocol with the Helium Blockchain. This allows any LoRaWAN-enabled devices to operate on the Helium Network and provides a secure and cost-effective way for these devices to send data to and from the Internet.

LoRaWAN (low-power wide-area network) is a type of network that allows long-range communications for small amounts of information and is much cheaper to use than existing wireless networks. This makes using the Helium Network very efficient in endless different use cases and allows any number of sensors to be deployed, paying only for the data these sensors use.

LoRa  technology is used in indoor and outdoor use cases in smart agriculture, smart cities, industrial IoT (IIoT), smart environment, smart homes and buildings, smart utilities and metering, smart supply chain and logistics, and many more. This in turn has allowed LoRa to become the most effective wireless platform of Internet of Things (IoT). Combine this technology with the innovations of the Helium Network, and we have the world's largest and fastest growing wireless network in history!

Currently, the Helium Network enables communication between low power sensor devices. This fills a huge void we have in wireless networks today and enables the use of so many different IoT devices at a fraction of the cost of cellular data. In just about any field or application you could imagine, LoRa devices can be used to improve operations. This is because these devices have such a wide variety of use cases and can be used to monitor just about anything.

The Helium Network is NOT a cellular network for smartphones just yet. However, Helium has announced their 5G wireless network that is right around the corner!

What are LoRa Devices & How do I Use the Helium Network?

LoRa sensor devices are long range, low power, and cost-effective devices that range from a wide variety of use cases. Due to the low power and low data usage of these devices, they can be used at a fraction of the cost on the Helium Network, compared to a typical cellular network plan. Installing LoRa smart devices in your business or home is an easy and cost-efficient way to monitor your security, assets, and/or business operations, and the Helium Network makes monitoring these devices easier and cheaper than ever.

Helium is the world's largest and fastest growing IoT network with thousands of people and developers already expanding, building, implementing, and developing the network. Onboarding a LoRa device to the Helium Blockchain is done through the Helium Console and data streams can then be viewed and interacted with through the IoT platform of your choice. View the Helium Ecosystem to see different devices and tools currently being used on the network and the Helium Docs for more.

What are the Benefits of the Helium Network?

From Environment Monitoring to Logistics and Supply Chain  Helium is making a difference in the way we can manage the world. Helium enables everything from remote environment monitoring, data-tracking and reporting, and real-time shipment and asset tracking to many more real-life applications in which we can use LoRa devices to improve our lives.

A major benefit of the Helium Network is that it is an open network for anyone to connect to and use. The Helium Network allows the ability to connect any number of devices and pay only for the data used. The network also allows connectivity for as many devices as needed without sim cards or related fees, ability to pool data across devices, and unlimited data usage (no caps).

The benefits of the Helium Network come from the implementation of LongFi with  blockchain technology , along with   an open-sourced software that allows any developer(s) to review and submit a Helium Improvement Proposal (HIP) with updates, bug fixes, and/ or improvements for the Helium team to review.

What is Helium mining?

Helium's technology is unique and decentralized allowing anyone to build out massive, wireless infrastructures that benefit everyone.  Helium mining is done through Helium compatible hotspots that mine the Helium Network Token (HNT) for sending and receiving radio signals, and each hotspot alone can provide up to miles of wireless network coverage with an optimally placed antenna. By deploying a Helium hotspot, you are providing a Proof of Coverage (PoC) and are rewarded for witnessing other hotspots in that area. The other way Helium hotspots earn rewards is through transferring data for devices on the network.

Helium miners are unlike typical GPU mining and use less energy than a standard 5W light bulb. This also means that they do not produce a noticeable amount of heat. Simply plug the miner into a standard electrical outlet, connect to the Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and position the antenna.

Hotspots need to be at least 300 meters apart to provide any new or significant coverage. This is why we at Maritime Blockchain LLC are searching for hosts like you to most effectively expand The Helium Network. We realize that not everyone wants to take the inherent risk of installing their own Helium hotspot, which is why we supply our hosts with a Helium hotspot, all the necessary installation equipment, and a professional installation of the hotspot and outdoor antenna.

In return for hosting, we pay our hosts monthly 20% of the hotspot's earnings. By hosting a Helium hotspot with us, you are enabling a more connected world and receive monthly passive income for doing so! Apply through our website today!
